CRJ Services Delivers First JENZ Chipper into the UK Market to J&S Vicary

Following the acquisition of the JENZ dealership earlier this year, CRJ Services has delivered its first JENZ chipper into the UK market to long-standing customer J&S Vicary Agricultural & Forestry Contractors. The milestone delivery marks an important step for CRJ Services while reinforcing a trusted partnership with one of the UK’s most experienced JENZ operators.

Based in Yorkshire, J&S Vicary is a family-run business providing a wide range of agricultural and forestry services nationwide. The company specialises in large-scale wood chipping, heavy-duty mulching, and the supply of high-quality wood chip and biomass fuels to customers across the UK.

A Longstanding Commitment to JENZ

Chris Vicary, Director at J&S Vicary, has operated JENZ machinery for many years, with both chippers and high-speed shredders forming a core part of the company’s fleet. Prior to their latest investment, J&S Vicary ran a JENZ HEM 593 Z PTO chipper for wood chipping applications, alongside a JENZ BA 725 DL high-speed shredder for processing roots, stumps, and brash material.

Much of the material processed by J&S Vicary is supplied as fuel to large-scale biomass energy plants, while some customers use the material within their own biomass boiler systems. With multiple biomass fuel grades in use across the industry, chip quality is critical, directly influencing the value customers can achieve from their material.

Alongside quality, processing speed and throughput are key performance factors, driven by the capacity and capability of the chipping machinery in operation.

Upgrading to the Next Level of Performance

At the time of purchase, the HEM 593 Z represented the largest PTO chipper in the JENZ range, delivering outputs of approximately 270m³ per hour. With a focus on continually operating the best available equipment, Chris Vicary identified the launch of the new JENZ HEM 841 Z as the right time to upgrade.

The HEM 841 Z introduces a significantly larger infeed area, measuring 1400mm wide by 820mm high — a 20% increase compared to the HEM 593 Z. This enhanced infeed capacity delivers an approximate 37% increase in output, with production rates reaching up to 370m³ per hour.
