Wastewise Restores Performance with HAAS Tyron 2000 XL 2.0 Refurbishment by CRJ Services
Wastewise, a leading operator within the waste management industry, recently faced a critical challenge with one of its key processing assets – the HAAS Tyron 2000 XL 2.0 slow-speed shredder. As a core machine within their operation, maintaining reliability and performance was essential. To extend the machine’s operational life and ensure continued efficiency, Wastewise identified the need for a comprehensive refurbishment and turned to CRJ Services, trusting their expertise to deliver a high-quality solution.
This project represents a strong example of CRJ Services’ capability to manage large-scale, third-party refurbishment work while minimising disruption to customer operations.
The Challenge
The scale and complexity of the overhaul required specialist knowledge, dedicated facilities, and careful planning. After initial assessment, it was agreed that the refurbishment would be best carried out at CRJ Services’ workshop, rather than on-site. This decision enabled tighter quality control, improved efficiency, and a faster turnaround.
A further challenge was ensuring Wastewise could continue operations during the refurbishment period. Transporting a machine of this size also required careful logistical coordination to reduce downtime and keep the project on schedule.
The Solution
CRJ Services delivered a full refurbishment of the HAAS Tyron 2000 XL 2.0, replacing and renewing key components to restore the machine to optimal operating condition. To support Wastewise during this period, CRJ also supplied a relief shredder, allowing operations to continue without interruption.
As part of the end-to-end service, CRJ arranged all transport logistics for both the relief machine and the shredder undergoing refurbishment. This holistic approach ensured the process remained seamless, efficient, and fully managed from start to finish.

The Refurbishment Process
Once delivered to CRJ Services’ facility, the machine underwent a structured and thorough refurbishment programme. This controlled environment allowed the team to work efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.
Key stages of the process included:
- Initial assessment, involving a detailed inspection to identify worn components and define the scope of work
- Careful disassembly, allowing full access to all critical systems
- Replacement of worn and damaged parts, using high-quality components to ensure long-term performance
- Reassembly and rigorous testing, confirming the machine was operating at peak efficiency before returning to site
Throughout the project, communication between CRJ Services and Wastewise remained clear and consistent. Regular updates ensured full transparency, reinforcing confidence and trust at every stage of the process.

The Result
Following completion, the refurbished HAAS Tyron 2000 XL 2.0 was returned to Wastewise and immediately placed back into service. The machine is now performing as expected, delivering reliable throughput and supporting ongoing operational demands.
As one of CRJ Services’ first large-scale third-party refurbishment projects, the successful delivery of this overhaul demonstrated the team’s ability to meet high service standards while working collaboratively with customers. The project highlights CRJ’s commitment to quality, operational continuity, and long-term customer support within the waste management sector.
