Blackpool Skip Hire upgrades to the HAAS TYRON 2000 XL QC

We previously relied on two shredders to process our C&D, wood waste and green material but upgrading to the HAAS TYRON 2000 XL QC has allowed us to bring our shredding operation together into one high-performance machine. With the power and versatility to handle higher volumes of material, the TYRON has been a very worthwhile investment for our business.

Josh Teale, Director, Blackpool Skip Hire

Blackpool Skip Hire has continued to invest in its waste processing capabilities by upgrading to the HAAS TYRON 2000 XL Quick Change (QC). Processing construction, demolition (C&D), wood and green waste, the HAAS TYRON 2000 XL QC slow-speed shredder has provided Blackpool Skip Hire with a robust and versatile solution for shredding mixed wastes streams, helping to prepare materials for further screening and separation via the picking line to recycle, create energy and reduce landfill.

Streamlining operations

Previously operating two PowerShredder 1800s, Blackpool Skip Hire recognised an opportunity to streamline its waste-processing operation by moving to a single, powerful twin-shaft shredder. The investment not only streamlines operations but also improves the overall efficiency of the waste processing operation. The TYRON’s powerful shredding performance breaks down waste into a more consistent and manageable material. This then allows for more effective screening, sorting and separation, resulting in a greater proportion of each load being recovered, helping to maximise resource recovery and ultimately reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.

A powerful processing solution

Featuring two independently driven shredding shafts, the HAAS TYRON 2000 XL QC provides operators with greater flexibility when processing different materials, making it well suited to varied waste streams. The speed, direction of rotation and reverse times can be adjusted directly via the control system, allowing the machine to be adapted to suit the material being processed. In Blackpool Skip Hire’s case, the materials they process include C&D, wood and green waste.

Keeping downtime to a minimum

The latest generation of TYRON shredders features HAAS TYRON 2000 XL QC system, designed to make maintenance and configuration changes quicker and more straightforward. The modular system allows the complete shredding unit to be replaced in just 45 minutes, with shaft changes taking around 90 minutes, reducing the time the machine needs to be out of operation. This helps maximise uptime while making servicing and future changes easier to manage.

A Partnership That Spans Generations

“After more than 20 years of doing business with Mick Teale, it’s a real pleasure to see that relationship continue into the next generation with Jake & Josh. We’re delighted to have supplied the brothers and the team at Blackpool Skip Hire with their new HAAS TYRON 2000 XL QC.  Built on trust, loyalty and many years of doing business together, relationships like this are what make our industry special.” Ben McQuaid, Director, CRJ

From the initial specification through to installation, the focus was on ensuring the HAAS TYRON 2000 XL QC was configured to meet the requirements of the site and deliver practical benefits to the day-to-day operation.

CRJ were given the opportunity to demonstrate the machine on site and the machine’s performance, versatility and renowned build quality all impressed highly. The HAAS TYRON 2000 XL QC is now fully integrated into Blackpool Skip Hire’s operations, providing the processing capacity and efficiency required to meet the demands of their busy waste management operation. CRJ will continue to support Blackpool Skip Hire through ongoing servicing, technical support and aftersales care.
