 7 Miles, 7 Locks

On Sunday 19th July, part of the CRJ team swapped steel-toe boots for walking shoes as they took part in the ‘7 Mile, 7 Lock Canal Walk’ through Chester in support of Hospice of the Good Shepherd.

Walking with Purpose

The route followed the historic canal locks around Chester, each one marking a small milestone. Joined by supportive family and friends, the team embraced the challenge together, turning it into a real show of community spirit.

Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides vital, compassionate care for people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as support for their families. It’s an organisation that touches countless lives across the region, and the team were proud to walk in aid of such an important cause.

Giving Back Along the Way

True to CRJ’s values, the walk wasn’t just about fundraising. Armed with gloves and bin bags, the team also collected litter along the canal route – taking the opportunity to give back to the environment while giving back to the community.

It may have been a small gesture, but it made the journey even more meaningful. Supporting local causes and looking after our surroundings go hand in hand.

More Than Just a Walk

The 7-mile, 7-lock challenge was about showing up, stepping forward, and making a positive impact together. A huge thank you goes to everyone who supported the team – whether by walking, cheering them on, or donating. Your encouragement and generosity truly made a difference.
